Here’s How Root Canal Works
Root canal treatment is a procedure that is carried out by your dentist to remove unhealthy tissue from a diseased tooth. This usually provides relief from pain and discomfort and helps preserve your natural tooth, prolonging its life expectancy.
With this procedure, you can restore your tooth’s normal function and repair any existing damage. If a root canal is not done for the infected tooth, your tooth’s natural cavity may get infected with bacteria, causing pain and eventually killing the nerve. At Rekha’s, our Specialist Endodontist ensures you have a smooth root canal treatment with utmost accuracy.

Frequently Asked
Questions
One of the most common reasons for root canal failure is missing minute anatomical details the human eye is not able to see. With the help of a dental microscope a clinician can overcome these limitations and make precise treatments with lasting results and you’ll have minimal discomfort throughout the whole process.
Most patients feel little or no pain during a root canal procedure. Generally, before the treatment begins, the tooth and surrounding area are numbed to prevent the sensation of pain. This is usually done with local anaesthesia.
In nearly all root canal cases, a protective dental crown will be required once your endodontic therapy is completed. The crown can be customised to match the shade of the patient’s existing teeth. This crown adds strength and stability to the root canal treated tooth. Once it is placed, the normal biting and chewing functions of the treated tooth are restored.
The American Association of Endodontists says that modern root canal treatment is very similar to having a routine filling and usually can be completed in one or two appointments, depending on the complexity of the infection and the number of canals to be treated.
